Just when i thought it couldnt get any slower it proves me wrong. Normally one of the best months this year it seems to have been the hardest, just 37 fish out in total for the month just a fraction in comparison to previous years
Out of those 37 fish there were 12 over 40lb and the biggest of the month weighing 49lb 9oz.
The fish seem to be holding to very tight areas and frequently jumping and showing day and night but put a rig to these areas and they dont show any interest most fish came from the open water on lightly baited areas which is strange at this time of year normally you would struggle to keep the food going in quick enough.
Well thats it for another year fishing myself now until the ice comes (lets hope thats not too soon)
look forward to seeing you all next season.

September 2011

September has been a little difficult this year with the weather being erratic 28/29 degrees by day and as low as 2 degrees at night. The first part of the month produced the most fish with the catches being difficult to say the least in the last week of the month. Total catch for the month was an unimpressive 114, of which one was a 56lb 6oz common and 11 forty’s the biggest a 49lb1oz common, bright pop ups with large beds of boilie seem to be the way to go with pink and yellow being the favoured colours

August has been a slightly better month, the weather is still a little unsettled but the fishing has picked up with the month seeing 138 fish in three weeks with one of the weeks being closed for maintanence, not bad considering previous months this year.
There were 31 fish over 40lb with 5 over 50lb the biggest of the 40s being two mirrors both weighing 48lb 2oz caught by the same angler who also managed another 3 40s, 2 50s, 17 30s and 5 20s well done jim good angling mate.
Lets hope the fishing continues like this for the rest of the season.
Sorry for the delay in the lake reports for the previous couple of months we have had problems with our internet connection which has now been rectified.
I will keep you informed with what happens in september   ?

Another month that has proven to be a hard one with the exception of couple of days here and there which is no suprise with the weather still being very unsettled.
It has not been a very good start to the summer this year with temperatures up and down and so much rain even more so in fact than we saw in april and may of this year which is very uncommon, this month our anglers managed 101 carp with most of these fish coming from the clean gravel bars and clay beds with the bait preference being large beds of pellet with a scattering of boilie, baits capped with pink and yellow have also proven to be a good method.
Out of the 101 fish 24 have been over 40lb upto 49lb 14oz unlucky steve you still havent managed that 50 yet mate maybe next year still a great pb tho well done, 4 of these fish were also over 50 with the biggest of the month being a 56lb 6oz common which was seen on the bank twice this month the previous week it was caught at 56lb 2oz both times a new pb for our anglers well done lads.
Although there have been some good fish out this month the overall total hasnt been very impressive lets hope at some point this year the weather settles and the fishing becomes a bit more consistent.
